This tour brings you the best culinary extravaganza Istria has to offer. Scents and flavours you’l get to experience on this tour are the result of centuries of history, in which numerous empires took turns in ruling over this small region, and every single one of them left something valuable that is today mixed in an amazing and unique gastronomical experience.

Tourism itself also had a huge role in the development of numerous amazing Istrian chefs that today prepare creative meals from ingredients that are localy sourcable and fresh, ranging from amazing marine delicacies to best-in-the-world olive oil, truffles, wild asparagus, prosciutto, cheese, pasta, mushrooms…

With ingredients like that and lots of creativity, you know that the final product has to be nothing less than amazing. And when paired with great local wines it really makes for a culinary extravaganza.

On day one you will arrive to Istria and check in to the hotel. After the meeting with your tour guide the rest of the first day is off.

The first day of your tour takes you to the city of Pula which is the biggest city in the county. It is packed with amazing history, and you will get to find out a lot about the tumoltous times the city went through the three thousand years it exists. You will also visit the local market and an olive oil museum where you will have a tasting of various amazing olive oils produced in Istria. After the tasting you will head to the small village of Šišan where you will have lunch made by the most famous old-school chef in Istria. He will prepare an amazing seafood lunch after which you will head to the town of Vodnjan where you will visit a local eco museum and afterwards have a tasting of the best prosciutto in Istria on the farm of the prosciutto producer. After the tasting you will head back to your hotel.

You will start your day with a hunt on the elusive white truffle of Istria. The catch will be prepared for you in a tavern two days later. After the hunt you will visit the magical hilltop town of Motovun where you will have an amazing truffle lunch after you’re done with sightseeing. After the lunch you will visit a winery where you will have a  tasting of their amazing wines. When you’re done with tasting you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Today you will have the first part of the day off. In the afternoon you will go to the gem of the mediterranean – the city of Rovinj. After sightseeing you will have dinner in the michelin star restaurant where you will be served with an eight course dinner paird with some of the best wines made in Istria.

On your fifth day you will visit three nearly abandoned towns in Istria. First is the town of Grožnjan which got its second chance with the colonisation of numerous different artists which transformed the nearly abandoned town into a vibrant artist colony. After Grožnjan you will visit Završje which wasn’t so lucky – it’s almost completely abandoned, but it gives an amazing insight in life after people. The third location is somewhere inbetween, not completely abandoned, but also not flourishing with life. What saves it is the fact that there is one of the best taverns in Istria where you will have an amazing traditional lunch paired with Istrian wines. After you finish your lunch you will head to the last stop of the day – the licquor production facility where you will taste numerous different Istrian licquors.

This is another day where you will have the first part of the day off, and in the evening you will go to probably the most creative seafood restaurant in Istria where you will be served with numerous amazing courses prepared for you by the most famous chef in Istria.

On your last day you will head to central Istria. First you will go the town of Saint Vincent where you will visit the famous Grimani Castele and hear its amazing story while sipping on a glas of Grimani wine. Then you’ll go to the city of Pazin where, after a short stroll, you’ll get to visit the Museum and learn more about the history of the region, and also the history of Istrian food.
